Light descriptions become useful only when you translate them into your own home or garden. Bright indirect light means the space feels bright for much of the day without strong sun striking the leaves for long periods.
Filtered light is common under shade cloth, trees, greenhouse material or covered patios where direct sun is softened before it reaches the plant.
Direct sun means sunlight reaches the leaves without meaningful filtering. Morning direct sun is often gentler than intense midday or afternoon sun.
When in doubt, observe the plant over time. New growth, color and leaf condition tell you more than any label.
